I know where I am but forgot where I’ve been
It makes no sense now but I’m sure it did then
Decisions come then slip on by
I chose this path for god knows why
It seemed cool at the time to take this route
So far things have seemed to work out
I am what I am the same works for you
So what if we don’t even have a clue
As to where we’re going or where we’ve been
Have sex with the stars, play with the wind
Have a chat with Death if you’re of a mind
Feel his icy breath crawl up your spine
Fall asleep in the eyes of a cat
Dance with dolphins, fly with a bat
Whatever you do, do it well
And when the time comes have a story to tell
I’m working on mine this very minute
It’s a hell of a tale
